Playhouse East supports the creation of new work through old ideas—bringing actors, writers, and directors into the same room. Expanding on the innovative work of Actors East, we offer training, workshops, and collaborative programs designed to remove barriers to creating new work.

We are a tiny team of passionate actors, filmmakers, theatre makers and creatives. we have received no funding, private or public. We need your support, buying a coffee in our cafe, a ticket to a scratch night or just signing up to out mailing list really does help.

We are also home to 15 creative studios available for hire, with current residents including filmmakers, audio post-production specialists, video editors, musicians, and fashion designers.
